So, Saturday night, Shayne and I went to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner. We hadn't been there together, so we decided to try it out. Plus, I had a Victoria Secret secret shopper card (or something like that).
We both ended up getting the salad bar with our meals... and we were disappointed with the selection at the 'salad bar'. Not to mention the stupid 'window shoppers' that were seriously standing in the way, just LOOKING and commenting on the salad bar. We're standing there with our plates partiallly filled while this woman and her husband are standing in the way commenting on what things are and something about the different pasta salads they had. I finally say 'excuse me' and still have to walk AROUND her to get to the other side of the bar. ...Is it wrong that I immediately assumed that she was Canadian??
Anyways... we finally get back to our table... after running a relay-race around this table of about 7 people (dare I assume...Canadians?) that are standing, sitting, and playing with a baby... blocking the way... completely oblivious to our attempts to regain our seats so that we can...gasp!... eat our frigging food.
We finally sit down and Shayne and I are discussing our disappointment with the salad bar...and the scary looking waitress (with WAY too much blue eyeshadow on) at the crazy Candian's table.... I was sad that there were not any olives or chicken.... and Shayne was commenting on the color of the croutons... Then... highlight of the night... he discovers that the 'ham' that he put in his salad... well, it's not actually ham at all....
See those little chunks of meat?? It's bologna... seriously...
Our dinner arrives and Shayne's steak was more 'medium-well' than 'medium-rare'... The best part of his meal ended up being the steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes.
I ordered some spicy chicken noodle thing... "Sonora Chicken Pasta"... The menu claims it is "One of our classics. Pasta tossed in spicy southwestern cheese sauce with baked chicken and black beans. Accented with cillantro and tomatoes." I took a bite and offered a bite to Shayne. At first, the spiciness kind of took over your mouth (which I like)... but then you are left with the aftertaste of Hamburger Helpers powdered cheese/sauce mix. Not a fan.
The plates were cool though.
