Eowyn and I got back Saturday from an amazing vacation in Florida with my mom and step-dad. We had pretty much non-stop days visiting different places and enjoying the sun.
E and I left Sunday on a non-stop flight from Bangor to Orlando. I was really surprised how well she did on the flight. I was somewhat unimpressed with the service of Allegiant Air (I had heard good reviews). For a 3-hour flight they provided no free snacks (oh- you could get snacks... and pay $5 for a small bag of cookies or $2 for a drink) and there was no movie or other forms of entertainment. Just as Eowyn was starting to get restless and start complaining, we heard an announcement that we were going to arrive 30 minutes early! WOOHOO! As E continued to complain, she realized that she didn't have her earplugs in. Now, I had spent a good portion of the week before we left trying to locate foam earplugs that were made for children. After flunking out on this, I used an adult package I had purchased and cut them in half in hopes that it would work. She had them in for about 5 minutes and decided gum was a better solution to her problem.
On Monday we spent the day at Magic Kingdom. Our first stop (after being sidetracked by the Lego place) was the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique. Mom had scheduled an appointment for Eowyn to get all gussied up as a princess.
After the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique and the princess parade, we had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. Eowyn enjoyed the scenery and numerous fish aquariums throughout the restaurant. Unfortunately, she was not a big fan of the scheduled thunderstorms every 10-15 minutes...
After lunch, we walked around Magic Kingdom and rode a merry-go-round, twirled in the tea cup ride, took a boat through "It's a Small World," rode a riverboat ferry, traveled around on a train, and then went back to my mom's timeshare. Eowyn's Rapunzel dress was too hot, so she ended up taking it off and changing back into her sundress, but she still enjoyed every minute of our day. Even though it was a crazy day, Eowyn stayed awake the whole time and had to be convinced to go to bed.
Oh- and before we left, E scored a $10 balloon (ridiculous!!) =)
